Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients were expected to undergo surgery and anesthesia duration of =3 h, and had an American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status class of I–II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Mallampati class III or IV thyromental distance of <6.5 cm body mass index = 30 kg/m2 pregnant history of recent upper respiratory infection or sore throat taking steroid medications
