Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were as follows: The study included patients who had experienced a stroke 6 months prior, could walk at least 10 m, score on the mini mental state examination-korean (MMSE-K) not lower than 24 point, could communicate and follow the instructions, had functional gait index scores exceeding three points, had no problem gait due to orthopedic surgery or disability of either lower extremity, had no problem gait due to ankle joint contractures, had no problems due to diseases other than stroke, had no sensory deficiencies of the lower extremities, and voluntarily provided informed consent prior to participation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who were suffering from vestibular or cerebellar-related diseases, had visual or hearing impairments, could not readily participate due to severe cognitive decline or aphasia, or had unilateral neglect were excluded from the study.
