Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients who have staging CT, defined as that performed within three months before any definitive treatment (i.e., surgery or chemotherapy) of colorectal cancer, or within three months before or after endoscopic biopsy or resection.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: We will exclude patients who did not undergo staging CT of abdomen and pelvis. We will also exclude patients having unresectable colorectal cancer at the time of staging CT, based on two study coordinators’ review of the medical records. Potentially resectable cancer includes not only cases without overt extra-adrenal metastasis, but also hepatic or pulmonary metastasis that could be excised radically. For determining whether hepatic or pulmonary metastasis is resectable, we will use prospective decisions made in the multidisciplinary meetings during patients’ staging workup. For patients with rectal cancer, those who underwent neoadjuvant concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) with curative intention will also included.
