Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: patients (aged 20–80 years with American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status from I to III) scheduled for elective arthroscopic shoulder surgery at Chungnam National University Hospital (Daejeon, Republic of Korea), with all patients providing written informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded if the were refusal of block, had known lung disease, sepsis status, pregnancy, allergy to amide local anesthetic drug, had experienced neck surgery, had known neuropathy, chronic pain syndrome, In-house staff and students in a hierarchical relationship, patients with cognitive impairment
