Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: If one of the following three test results is applicable and symptoms (pain or unstable feeling) persist without a response even after conservative treatment for more than 3 months and surgical treatment is required 1) Anterior ligament rupture is MR imaging ( MRI), or if ligament attenuation, laxity, or fibrotic thickening similar to ligament rupture is confirmed 2) Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT) score of 24 or less (Functional instability positive findings) 3) Ankle joint stress load simple radiographs (AV stress view X-ray) confirmed positive mechanical instability 3-1) Anterior talus dislocation 10mm or more or 3mm difference compared to the healthy side Case 3-2) If the inclination angle of the talus is more than 9° or the difference is more than 3° compared to the healthy side

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Acute ankle sprain 2) General ligament relaxation (Beighton score of 5 points or more) 3) Previous anterior ligament repair or lateral ankle ligament reconstruction in the same ankle joint 4) Arthritis or fracture in the same ankle joint 5) If you do not agree to participate in this test

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To investigate the effect of preoperative ankle exercise therapy on postoperative recovery ability during ligament reconstruction for chronic lateral ankle ligament instability.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
VAS Score;range of motion: ROM;Muscle strength;Clinical functional scoring system - AOFAS Ankle Hindfoot scale;Clinical functional scoring system - Karlsson scale ;Clinical functional scoring system - Foot and Ankle Ability Measure(FAAM) – ADL & Sports subscale;Clinical functional scoring system - Lower ExtremityFunctional Scale(LEFS)
