Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Eligible patients were 65 to 79 years old with American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status Classification ? or ?, scheduled for elective surgery under general anesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusions included psychiatric medications, obesity (BMI > 30kg/m2), chronic alcoholism, liver cirrhosis, serious renal disease, endocrine or neuromuscular disease, arrhythmia, pacemaker or pulmonary disease.
