Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) patients who were diagnosed with achalasia and planned to undergo POEM; (2) age 20-80 years;

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) history of previous treatment except medication for achalasia; (2) history of chest and gastrointestinal surgery; (3) prior treatment with proton pump inhibitors or antibiotics within 8 weeks; (4) presence of active infection in oral cavity; (5) history of malignancy; (6) history of bleeding tendency or taking antithrombotics; and (7) presence of systematic disease receiving treatment.
