Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The diagnosis of pneumonia was based on the ATS/IDSA guidelines for community-acquired pneumonia. Patient admitted for more than 48 hours, with no alternative foci of infection identified, plus at least, two of the following criteria - Fever (38?) - Leukocytosis (>12,000/µl) or leukopenia (<4,000/µl) - Purulent respiratory secretions - Rale (or crackle) on physical examination - Abnormal blood gas analysis result Plus, new infiltrates on chest x-ray
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - HIV infection, syphylis, diabetes, hypertension, steroid user - Persons with other serious accompanying diseases when judged by the researcher.
