Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were (1) any patients greater than or equal to the age of 18 who undergoing elective surgery for thyroid or parathyroid surgery via conventional collar neck incision, and (2) patients who wrote informed consent provided for surgery and trial inclusion.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who had (1) prior neck surgery, (2) concomitant neck dissection, or (3) previous history of hypertrophic or keloid scarring were excluded.
