Procedure/Surgery : The protocol of this prospective study was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Chungnam National University Hospital (CNUH 2020-05-070-001). After obtaining sufficient
ropivacaine and 1&#37

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients (aged 20–70 years with American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I or II) scheduled for elective forearm surgery at Chungnam National University Hospital (Daejeon, Republic of Korea), with all patients providing written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded if they were refusal of brachial plexus block, had known allergy to amide local anesthetic drug, neuropathy involving the arm undergoing surgery, experienced neck surgery.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The proportion of participants of “complete anesthesia of ulna side” on 15 minutes after brachial plexus block.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
patient's discomfort during procedure;whether the Dorsal scapular artery was visible;what time the sensation of the ulnar nerve territory recovered to normal;sensory and motor block score (ulnar nerve, radial nerve, median nerve, musculocutaneous nerve)
