Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were histologically proven primary lung cancer, receipt of RT with or without chemotherapy, receipt of a total RT dose =50 Gy, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status =3, no prior thoracic irradiation, no previous or concurrent illness that would compromise completion of RT, and available follow-up data.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who underwent pre-RT surgical resection were excluded from this study. Patients who underwent radiosurgery were also excluded.
