Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Eligibility criteria included: 1) stage ? - ? colon or rectum cancer; 2) 20-70 years of age; 3) American Society of Anesthesiologist (ASA) grade = 3 at surgery, 3) the ability to read and understand Korean, and 4) willingness to participate in the study even after understanding the randomization process.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Major exclusion criteria for patients included: 1) evidence of recurrent or metastatic disease, 2) going to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after surgery, 3) having a stoma after their colectomy, and 4) getting open surgery.
