Interventions

Procedure/Surgery : 1. Test group: The extraction sockets were filled with deproteinized bovine bone mineral with 10&#37

collagen (DBBM-C, Geistlich Bio-Oss® Collagen, Geistlich Pharma AG, Wolhusen, Switzerland) and EMD (Straumann® Emdogain, Straumann, Basel, Switzerland). Then, extraction sockets were covered by two la

chlorhexidine (1 min, twice a day for 10 days).

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. age =19 years 2. residual extraction sockets at least 50% of the buccal bone plate 3. presence of adjacent tooth at the extraction site 4. healthy or well-controlled systemic conditions 5. adequate oral hygiene and stable periodontal status (bleeding on probing <20% and plaque index <20%)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. pregnant or breastfeeding women 2. current smokers (>10 cigarettes/day) 3. bone metabolic disease 4. uncontrolled or untreated periodontal disease 5. lack of comprehensive instructions or inability to provide informed consent.
