Interventions

Medical Device : We performed bedside sleep examination using a portable polysomnography (Stardust II
Respironics Inc., Murrysville, PA, USA). The polysomnography is the gold standard test for SDB[40]. This multichannel device recorded the following diagnostic parameters: oxygen saturation, pulse rate

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: : (1) a diagnosis of cerebral infarction or hemorrhage in the brain by CT or MRI, (2) patients between 18 and 80 years of age, (3) patients admitted within 7 days to 6 months after stroke onset, and (4) patients who provided informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) a history of traumatic brain damage or brain tumor, (2) baseline oxygen saturation <95%, (3) the presence of acute or chronic cardiopulmonary diseases that affects pulmonary function, (4) presence of neuromuscular diseases (e.g., amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and myasthenia gravis), and (5) an unstable medical condition preventing completion of the clinical trial.
