Interventions

Behavioral : Robotic gait training, 30 min/day, 3day a week, for 4 weeks, conventional treadmill exercise 30 min/day, 3day a week, for 4 weeks.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) 55 -85 years old (2) Walking 30 minute and walk upstairs in a reciprocal manner (3) No history of knee surgical interventions to either lower limb. (4) No previous robotic interventions for ambulation training (5) Knee pain when performing normal activities of daily living (such as walking, squatting, or kneeling) (6) Radiographic evidence of mild-to-moderate (Kellgren & Lawrence grades II or III) knee OA in 1 or both knees (7) Medial compartment knee OA.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Rheumatoid arthritis (2) Joint replacements in knee (3) Neurological disorders (4) Cardiopulmonary conditions that precluded treadmill exercise (5) Orthopedic disorders involving the lower limbs, such as severe painful arthritis, osteoporosis, or joint contracture (6) History (within the last year) of traumatic hip, knee, or ankle injury or surgery (7) Kellgren & Lawrence grade IV radiographic evidence of severe knee OA (8) Obese patients with a body weight of > 135kg and a short height of < 150 cm (9) Use of crutches or a walking aid during ambulation (10) lateral compartment knee OA.
