Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Ischemic stroke patients older than 18 years old with relevant cerebral infarcts documented through available neuroimaging modalities o Relevance implies that presenting symptoms and signs should be adequately explained by the size and location of documented infarcts o Available neuroimaging modality implies computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) 2) Non-valvular Atrial fibrillation o Preferred to have been documented by electrocardiogram or 24-hour Holter monitoring and its relevance to the index stroke to be documented by a responsible physician o However, history of AF documented by medical records prior to index stroke would be acceptable
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Refusal to participate in Part II (For part II only, Individuals who are not able to take agreement for the informed consent) 2) Patients with prosthetic valve or hemodynamically relevant mitral valve stenosis. 3) Patients with transient atrial fibrillation caused by a reversible disorder (e.g., thyrotoxicosis, PE, recent surgery, MI)
