Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Over 18 years of age, (2) no systemic or local conditions presenting a contraindication to extraction and implant placement (3) require extraction of at least one upper posterior molar with the root apices shown to project within the sinus cavity or be in contact with the sinus floor on a panoramic radiograph (Class 1 ~ 4) (4) remaining ridge height (from the ridge crest to the inferior border of maxillary sinus) after extraction ranging 4-8mm (5) no pathologic conditions of maxillary sinus such as mucosal thickening and cyst (6) have more than two residual teeth after extraction to be used as references during image superimposition (7) no smoking over 20 cigarettes per day (8) no pregnancy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Under 18 years of age (2) Presence of systemic disease or bone metabolic disorder that is contraindicant for extraction or implantation (3) History of malignancy, radiotherapy, or chemotherapy in the past 5 years (4) Smoking over 20 cigarettes per day (5) Pregnant or lactating women
