Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were as follows: indications for surgical removal of both mandibular third molars with partial impaction which need surgical incision, similar vertical and horizontal position of both sides of third molars, and age above 19 years with informed consent. No peri-coronitis, drug-allergy and specific medical diseases which could influence to the results.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: This study excluded patients with systemic conditions that contraindicated surgical procedure, fully erupted mandibular third molars which do not need surgical incision, acute pericoronitis of third molars, generally poor oral hygiene and conditions, pregnant or nursing women, smokers, patients under medications that would interfere with the wound healing and refusal to give signed informed consent. No subjects had undergone a previous similar treatment to that performed in this study.
