Interventions

Drug : We performed single-injection ultrasound-guided sciatic nerve block using 0.75&#37
ropivacaine 20 mL in the popliteal area. According to the group allocation, saline 2 mL, dexamethasone 2.5 mg, 5 mg, or 10mg was injected intravenously.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients scheduled for ankle and foot surgery, American Society of Anesthesiologits physical status 1 - 3

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: contraindication to regional anesthesia (e.g., coaculopathy) diabetes allergy to study medication neurological deficits in the operated extremity steroid use chronic opioid use pregnancy
