Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Our inclusion criteria for participants were: (1) >6 months after the onset of hemiparetic stroke; (2) >24 on the cognitive Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE); (3) >10m of independent ambulation with or without a walking aid; (4) ?4 on Brunnstrom stages of motor recovery; (5) <21 on the Trunk Impairment Scale (TIS); (6) <45 on the Berg Balance Scale (BBS); and (7) the ability to understand and follow simple verbal instructions.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria included a current or prior diagnosis of other neurological or musculoskeletal diseases, hemineglect, visual lesions, or pain.
