Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed as chronic hepatitis B in Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Seoul National University hospital or Borame munincipal hospital and received ultrasound and alpha-fetoprotein examination for two or more times between 2003-3-1 and 2017-2-28.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis of hepatoma or other malignance before or 6 months after enrollment 2. Coinfection with hepatitis C virus or human immunodeficiency virus 3. Duration of follow-up < 12 months
