Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients aged 20 years or over who underwent cardiovascular surgery (January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2013)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) patients with missing serum creatinine 2) patients with preoperative dialysis or an estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) < 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 3) patientswith organ transplantation or nephrectomy 4) patients with a preoperative intraaortic balloon pump or ventricular assist device support 5) patients who underwent endovascular aortic repair surgery

Primary

MeasureTime frame
the incidence of acute kidney injury and chronic dialysis within 12 months after cardiovascular surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
the incidence of severe AKI (= Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) criteria stage 2) or requirement of renal replacement therapy in hospital;death within 12 months after surgery;time to extubation following surgery;length of intensive care unit after surgery;hospital stay after surgery
