Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) patients age: 60 years ~95 years 2) radiographically proven femoral neck or intertrochanteric fractures 3) having pain from hip fracture 4) received none or only one dose of parenteral analgesia 5) normal distal neurovascular status 6) able to consent and actively participate.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) refusal of the patient 2) history of allergy to the study medicine 3) contraindication to puncture in the affected inguinal area 4) patients not able to understand the study protocol
