Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were patients who had a double J ureteral stent inserted after ureteroscopic ureter stone removal for unilateral recurrent ureteral stones.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria were coexisting noncalculous disease (e.g., malignant obstruction, renal insufficiency, or congenital anomaly of urinary tract), solitary kidney, ureteral stricture, pregnancy, or complicated ureteroscopic ureter stone removal requiring long-term stent placement (>7 days). Patients who were taking an alpha-blocker or anti-cholinergic agent to treat lower urinary tract symptoms or who were taking analgesics for chronic pain were also excluded to rule out any influence of the drugs on the symptom questionnaire results.
