Interventions

Procedure/Surgery : Normocarbia (38-42 mmHg) and hypocarbia (30-34 mmHg) were maintained by control of minute ventilation. The effects of PaCO2 on cerebral oxygen saturation is evaluate.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Elderly patients who aged 65 years or older undergoing major operation under general anesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Prone operation position 2. Head or neck operation 3. History of cerebrovascular diseases 4. Patient who has decreased cardiac output 5. Anemia 6. Hypoxemia 7. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease 8. Patient who has neurologic disease
