Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The patients were arranged for elective gastic operation, gall bladder and bile duct surgeries that required NG tube insertion and were classified by the American Society of Anesthesiologists as physical status I, II or III.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included: history of difficult intubation, larynx surgery, larynx radiotherapy tracheal-, respiratory- or cardiovascular disease; patients expected to have esophago-tracheal reflux; patients with a loose tooth; patients with a Mallampati classification of III or IV; patients with a body mass index (BMI) ?35 kg/m2.
