Behavioral, Others(Education and Exercise training and practice) : The finally determined intervention included 4 components and contents identified from literature review as essential for self-manage
exercise training and practice including breathing exercise, muscle strengthening and aerobic exercise
cognitive behavioral strategies including informative self-decision making, collaborative goal setting and supportive advice
action planning for exacerbation. The intervention was designed to run for 8 weekly sessions consisting of 3 face to face sessions for 60 minutes each, and 5 phone-call sessions for 20 minutes each by

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All participants should meet the following criteria: (1) a diagnosis of stage II, III chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), based on the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Diseases (GOLD) staging system(Forced expiratory volume1(FEV1)/Forced vital capacity(FVC)<70%, FEV1 < 80%); (2) confirmed the participation to the intervention for the current study at the discretion of the responsible medical doctors; (3) capable of independent mobility without any musculoskeletal and/or neurological dysfunction that may limit patients’ physical mobility for excercise training and/or functional assessment for this study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: This study excludes the patients with: (1) history of other lung diseases, including pneumoconiosis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary tuberculosis, primary pulmonary hypertension,pulmonary embolism and interstitial lung disease; (2) any concomitant diseases that could interfere with the general condition such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal failure, cancer, mental disease; and (3) neuromuscular impairment that would interfere with the patient’s mobility
