Drug : For combined treatment group, 10 mg of intravenous dexamethasone once a day for 2 days and two times of 10mg metoclopramide maximal to 5 days will be injected. For single treatment group, 10mg

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: acute vestibulopathy patients with nausea and/or vomiting and who visited emergency room or outpatients clinic, and attended to hospitalization, and who are willing to participate in this study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: diabetes or hypertension, acute peptic ulcer, glaucoma, intestinal obstruction, pregnancy, under age of 18, currently-using steroids or past medical history of steroid use before 3 months from initial visit, having an allergy to dexamethasone, immunodepressant users, central orign of dizziness such as cerebral infarction or hemorrhage, head trauma, uncontrolled diabetes and/or hypertension, known cerebrovascular disease or cardiovascular disease, psychogenic problems such as depression or schizoprenia.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Visual analogue scale (0-10 points) to assess degrees of nausea and dizziness, and bed-side physical examination will be performed.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
head shaking nystagmus, head impuse test, spontaneous nystagmus test
