Drug : The patients were receive propofol or desflurane anesthesia using a computer-generated randomization table for a breast cancer surgery.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) aged 18 to 85 years 2) ASA (American society of anesthesiology) class I-III 3) Womens scheduled for mastectomy, axillary node dissection or wide local tumor excision in Ewha womans university Mokdong hospital .

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) previous breast cancer surgery (except diagnostic biopsy) 2)inflammatory breast cancer, evidence of systemic infections (clinically defined or elevated C-reactive protein levels, leukocytosis, body temperature=37.8?) 3) any contraindication to midazolam, propofol, desflurane, fentanyl, rocuronium or nocuronium.
