Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Thirty-one children with moderate AD, three to eight years of age, that scored 25 to 55 points on the scoring atopic dermatitis (SCORAD), were enrolled in this study. The residence types of subjects were apartment houses.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children that had food allergies and that showed sensitization to antigens, except house dust mites, were excluded from this study. In addition, those that spent less than 12 hours indoors, had renovated or newly built houses within one year, or that had pets with fur were also excluded. The residence types of subjects were apartment houses. Detached houses were excluded, because the ventilation systems differ from apartments.
