Interventions

Procedure/Surgery : When ultrasound-guided interscalene nerve block with nerve stimulator performed,a local anesthetic of 0.5% ropivacaine 20ml is injected at the point of the motor response of 0.2 mA

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients scheduled for shoulder arthroscopic surgery 2. American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status 1-2 3. age from 18 to 75 years old

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. significant coagulopathy 2. infection at the injection site 3. allergy to local anesthetics 4. severe cardiopulmonary disease 5. known neuropathy
