Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Consecutive series of patients who were hospitalized due to acute ischemic stroke with relevant ischemic lesion on image study within 7 days of onset were collected from 9 centers participating in the 'Clinical Research Center for Stroke' program (case group). Among the population with participating the National survery, we extracted the subjects who lived in Seoul, Kyeng-gi, Dae-jeon and Chung-nam area.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: TIA patients were excluded in case group.
