Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. adult patients above age 21 2. patients receving open abdominal surgery required more than 3 hours in supine position under general anesthesia 3. ASA class 1~2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. abnormal finding on past medical history and preoperative pulmonary function test 2. morbid obesity, BMI > 30 3. symptomatic asthma, bronchiectasis and bronchitis 4. current smoker or within 1 year after smoking cessation
