patients with dysphagia, and normal subjects

Interventions

Ten minute magnetic stimulation for 2 weeks in normal subjects and >2 weeks in patients with dysphagia. Videofluorography, videoendoscopy, and/or manometry is used for analysis.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with dysphagia wirh reduced hyoid or laryngeal elevation, and normal subject

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Unstable condition and/or patients who used cardiac pacemaker

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Position of hyoid bone and larynx before and during stimulation, and during swallowing reflex

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Changes in pressure of upper esophageal sphincter, muscle force for hyoid and larynx, muscle fatigue, dysphagia severity scale, eating status scale, and penetration-aspiration scale
