Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients undergoing thyroid surgery at Department of Surgery in Showa Medical University Northern Yokohama Hospital 2) Patients who are 18 years of age or older at the time of informed consent. 3) Patients who have given written informed consent to participate in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients who undergo mediastinal lymphadenectomy. 2) Patients who undergo thoracoscopic assisted operation. 3) Patients in whom placement of a drain is difficult for some reason. 4) Patients judged to be ineligible by the investigator's judgment.
