Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Aged from 20 to 65 years Presence of occlusal contact with natural dentition Those who gave written informed consent in first-person Those who diagnosed with sleep bruxism by clinical assessment and simplified polysomnography

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Two or more missing molars, excluding third molars Use of removable prosthesis Use of medication with possible effects on sleep or motor behavior Alcohol or drug abuse Ongoing physical or dental therapy, including orthodontic treatment Presence of major neurological or psychiatric disorders Presence of Sleep disorder (e.g., sleep apnea syndrome, narcolepsy)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Total duration of sleep bruxism bursts per hour (sleep bruxism scoring: nocturnal masseter muscle EMG activities with the level of amplitudes over 10% maximum voluntary contraction)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The number of sleep bruxism epsode per hour, sleep stage, total number of micro arousal per hour, subjective evaluation for deep sleep and usability of the occlusal splint, wear of occlusal splint assessed by 100mm VAS, The wearing depth on the occlusal surface of splint
