Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) 21 years old or older 2) Diagnosis of diabetes mellitus with diabetic macular edema 3) BCVA (best corrected visual acuity) less than or equal to 20/32 4) Central subfield thickness on OCT (optical coherence tomography) greater than or equal to 340 um

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Renal failure requiring hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis 2) Macular edema due to a cause other than DME (diabetic macular edema) 3) Ocular condition which might affect macular edema during the course of the study 4) History of systemic or ocular anti-VEGF treatment within 6 months 5) History of major ocular surgery within 6 months 6) History of intravitreal steroids within 6 months
