Interventions

An educational intervention using an oral self-care education pamphlet (Oral Health Habits Program) will be conducted for 30 minutes to compare the condition before and one month after the education.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients over 50 years old with chronic respiratory disease 2) Patients attending the Department of Respiratory Medicine, University of A Hospital 3) Patients whose condition is stable and approved by the physician. 4) Patients who are able to clean their mouth by themselves.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Patients undergoing treatment for oral and swallowing problems 2)Patients with communication difficulties due to dementia 3)Patients who have difficulty breathing when speaking or opening their mouth.
