Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Children aged 6-12 years 2. Children who meet DSM-5 criteria for at least one anxiety disorder (separation anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobia, generalised anxiety disorder, or selective mutism) as the primary diagnosis, assessed by the Anxiety Disorders Interview Schedule for DSM-5 (ADIS-5) 3. No new initiation of pharmacotherapy is scheduled for the children during the study period at the time of registration 4. Children are not receiving other CBT during the study period at the time of registration 5. Parent(s) willing and able to attend weekly online sessions for 7 weeks 6. Informed consent from parent(s) and assent from the child

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Children and parents with comorbid severe mental disorders such as organic brain disorders (including dementia), psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, or substance dependence 2. Children and parents who pose an imminent suicide risk 3. Children and parents who repeatedly engage in antisocial behaviour 4. Children and parents with severe progressive physical diseases 5. Children and parents with intellectual disability or borderline intellectual functioning 6. Children with autism spectrum disorder (based on clinical cut-off score of Parent-interview ASD Rating Scale) 7. Those for whom contact with researchers is difficult 8. Others whom the principal investigator or research implementer deems inappropriate for the safe conduct of this study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome is the remission rate from the primary anxiety disorder, defined as no longer meeting DSM-5 criteria for the primary anxiety disorder according to the ADIS-5 at the 13-week assessment

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The secondary outcomes for children's symptoms include clinician's severity ratings (CSR), Revised Child Anxiety and Depression Scale - child/parent version (RCADS-C/P), Child Anxiety Impact Scale - child/parent version (CAIS-C/P), and Short Child Anxiety Scale (Short CAS). The measures for parents' characteristics include Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), Parent Overprotection Measure (POM), Parenting Sense of Competence Scale (PSCS), and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES).
