Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Elective surgery 2) Aged 18 or older 3) consented to the research 4) Planned for epidural aneshesia 5) Taken X-ray after surgery 6) Able to describe complications and pain

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) receiving oral anticoagulants 2) coagulopathy 3) infection at the site of needle insertion 4) history of lower thoracic spine surgery

Accuracy of Epidural Catheter Placement site using Palpation and Ultrasound (percent agreement)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Gap between the target intervertebral space and the actual inplantation site, time to perform the procedure, complications, incidence of hypoesthesia, incidence of motor paresthesia, postoperative pain score, and postoperative analgesic requirement.
