Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria (1) Disease: Mitochondrial disease (2) Patients whose samples have been collected by collaborating research institutions and stored in the NCNP Muscle Repository (3) Patients from whom consent (including opt-out consent) can be obtained for the use of their samples stored in the NCNP Muscle Repository for this study Patients with a confirmed diagnosis based on genetic testing (either mitochondrial DNA or nuclear DNA) As a general rule, the sharing of patient specimens and information shall be based on obtaining consent for secondary use via the Cell Bank Platform. However, in cases where it is difficult to obtain appropriate consent from the patient, sharing will be conducted through an opt-out process.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria (1) Patients with infections of HBV, HCV, HIV-1, HIV-2, or HTLV-1* (2) Patients deemed inappropriate for inclusion in this study by the investigators at the collaborating research institutions *This includes individuals who have tested positive for HBV, HCV, HIV-1, HIV-2, or HTLV-1 in past viral tests, with virus levels exceeding the specified thresholds.
