Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria comprised all surgical cases scheduled during the study period in which anaesthesia was managed by the Department of Anaesthesiology.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included cases in which patients entered the operating theatre for minor procedures, such as central venous catheterisation; cases in which the patient entered the operating theatre but surgery was not performed for any reason; and cases in which the primary anaesthesia provider was a physician from a department other than anaesthesiology; and cases with missing data for any of the covariates.
