Interventions

We will administer olfactory, verbal, and visual stimuli related to memory and describe the memories evoked by these stimuli. During stimulus presentation, we will measure EEG and respiration.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: In this study, we target healthy individuals who have consented to participate and are aged between 20 and 75 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Those who do not give consent after the study details have been explained. Those whose pain levels may be affected by other conditions, making continuous assessment difficult. Those with significant cognitive decline deemed ineligible by the attending researcher. Those with over 50 percent errors in the emotional index test items, etc. Those who have previously suffered from severe intracranial diseases or head injuries. Those with olfactory or visual impairments. Those diagnosed with severe mental illnesses. Those who routinely use drugs with anticholinergic effects. (Antihistamines for hay fever, sleeping pills, antidepressants, antipsychotic, drugs for frequent urination and incortinence.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
We will perform a group analysis considering multiple comparisons, mapping the EEG generation areas for each frequency (delta, theta, alpha, beta) across the scalp using a 32-channel system.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Respiratory rate, minute ventilation, tidal volume, end tidal CO2 concentration will be measured with a gas analyzer. Subjective emotional and cognitive levels will be measured with following assessments. Self rating Depression Scale, State Trait Anxiety Inventory), Visual Analog Scales measuring for comfortableness, arusal level, level of memory retrieval, level of brinb back and arousal level of memory and an interview for autobiographical memory protocol.
