Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 20 years or older Patients scheduled to undergo cardiovascular surgery using cardiopulmonary bypass under general anesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Lack of informed consent Emergency surgery Renal dysfunction (serum creatinine more than 2 mg/dL) Judged as inappropriate for participation by the attending anesthesiologist

Comparison of inflammatory cytokine levels (IL-6, IL-8, TNF-alfa, IL-10) between residual cardiopulmonary bypass circuit blood and cell saver processed blood

MeasureTime frame
Changes in red blood cell count, white blood cell count, and hemoglobin concentration before and after cell saver processing Changes in complement factors C3 and C5a concentrations Correlation between cytokine reduction rates and clinical parameters (e.g., cardiopulmonary bypass time) Associations with perioperative variables such as patient background, bleeding volume, transfusion volume, and anesthetic drug usage
