After inducing general anesthesia, in the THRIVE group the oxygen flow rate is increased to 70 L/min and the fraction of inspiratory oxygen to 100%. In the face mask group, the face mask is placed in

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Obese patients with BMI >35 scheduled for general anesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with severe cardiac disease, severe respiratory disease, anticipated face mask ventilation difficulties, severe reflux esophagitis, neuromuscular disease, implanted cardiac pacemaker

The time to 92% or below of percutaneous arterial blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), SpO2, arterial blood partial pressure of oxygen, arterial blood partial pressure of carbon dioxide, expiratory end carbon dioxide partial pressure, and arterial blood pH.
