Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing peripheral intravenous cannulation before induction of general anesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Emergency surgery Shock Severe dehydration Severe edema Patients in whom a supervising physician is unable to identify a suitable peripheral vein by visual inspection or palpation Patients with a documented history of difficult peripheral intravenous cannulation
