Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Cases where mandibular wisdom teeth were extracted at the research institution between April 1, 2018, and March 31, 2021. Cases where the patient was 20 years of age or older at the time of wisdom tooth extraction. Cases where a panoramic X-ray was taken.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Cases where the medical record is insufficient and adequate information cannot be obtained. Cases where a cyst or tumor is present alongside the wisdom tooth and is in contact with the mandibular canal. Cases where sensory numbness has developed prior to wisdom tooth extraction. Cases where crown sectioning or a two-stage approach has been selected.
