Interventions

This study will include Japanese adult patients who have consented to participate, who were referred by physicians from various clinical departments, and who undergo PICC (Groshong Catheter) insertion

s Ethics Review Committee and 31 August 2027. The procedures are performed by Nurse Practitioners (NPs) who have been authorized by their institution&#39

s Medical Safety Committee to independently insert PICC lines under a physician&#39

s supervision. The aim of this study is to collect data on variations in PICC tip position during insertion as influenced by upper limb position and respiratory phase.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Inpatients and outpatients at the participating institution who have received a full explanation of the research and provided written consent of their own free will, based on a full understanding of the matter - Inpatients and outpatients at the participating institution who are aged 18 or over at the time consent is obtained

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Patients with whom communication is difficult - Patients with significant congenital malformations of the great vessels or heart - Patients with existing central venous catheters, pacemakers, or similar devices - Patients in whom intracardiac electrical activity may be generated due to atrial fibrillation or the presence of a permanent pacemaker, etc. - Patients with marked spinal curvature - Patients who have difficulty maintaining a stable position - Patients with unstable respiratory patterns or respiratory failure - Pregnant patients - Patients deemed unsuitable by the principal investigator or co-investigators
