Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Working memory performance will be evaluated before and immediately after theta-, gamma-, and sham-transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) over the right fronto-parietal network. The interval between each experimental condition will be at least five days. Outcome measures: n-back task performance 1. Reaction time for correct responses 2. Accuracy rate 3. d-prime score | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To evaluate adverse effects or discomfort related to tACS, a questionnaire on side effects will be administered three times: immediately after the start of stimulation, 5 minutes after the start, and immediately after the end of stimulation. The questionnaire items are based on the "Guidelines for the Safety of Low-Intensity Transcranial Electrical Stimulation (2019 Edition)" (Japanese Society of Clinical Neurophysiology, Subcommittee on Brain Stimulation Methods, 2021). | — |
