Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 16 years or older who visited Kanagawa Dental University Hospital Orthodontics and Yokohama Clinic Orthodontics and were diagnosed as requiring treatment using maxillofacial surgery were targeted.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with a history of cleft lip and palate will be excluded.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Low-frequency electrical stimulation will be performed from one week after surgical orthodontic treatment, and it will be evaluated whether there is a difference in the improvement of masticatory function between the group that received continuous low-frequency electrical stimulation for six months and the group that did not.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Low-frequency electrical stimulation will be performed from one week after surgical orthodontic treatment, and it will be evaluated whether there is a difference in the improvement of sensory function between the group that received continuous low-frequency electrical stimulation for six months and the group that did not.
